Input
Built for the drawings you actually get
Most design tools expect a clean model. Your bid set is usually a PDF, and part of it is often scanned. Layvo reads all of these.
- ScanScanned as-builts and microfilm copies
- RasterFlattened PDFs with no layers
- PartialHalf-size sets and partial floor plans
- MarkupHand notes and revision clouds
- CADDWG files, when you have them
Process
How it works
- Step 1
Upload the set
Send the architectural PDF and tell us the AHJ, the occupancy and the panel manufacturer you're bidding.
- Step 2
The layout engine drafts it
It finds rooms, ceilings, doors and exits, then places and circuits devices to NFPA 72 and your local amendments.
- Step 3
A designer checks and signs
A NICET-certified designer reviews every device, calculation and note, fixes what needs fixing and signs the set.
- Step 4
You submit
You get the submittal package within 48 hours. If the AHJ comments, we revise it at no charge.

Questions
What contractors ask first
Who signs the drawings?
A NICET-certified fire alarm designer reviews and signs every package. If your AHJ requires a PE stamp, tell us and we'll quote it.
Which codes do you design to?
The NFPA 72 edition your jurisdiction has adopted, the IBC and IFC with local amendments, and ADA rules for visible notification.
What if the AHJ comments?
Send us the comments. We revise the set and send it back at no charge.
What do you need from me?
The architectural PDF, the AHJ, the occupancy type and your panel manufacturer. Reflected ceiling plans help but aren't required.
Do you handle security or low-voltage?
Fire alarm comes first. CCTV, access control and structured cabling layouts are planned next.
What happens to my drawings?
We use them to produce your package and to improve our layout engine. We don't share your project files with other customers.
